The amazing Figure 8 Pools in the Royal National Park are one of the best known rock shelf formations in Australia.
The Figure Eight Rock Pools are located on a rock shelf right on the oceanfront. Access is via a VERY DIFFICULT 6.1 kilometre bush track that should only be attempted by those with above average fitness. You will need to be prepared for at least a 2 hour bush walk EACH WAY.
There is no fresh water supply available nor are there any toilet facilities so you must BE PREPARED.
You will need to take bottled water and snacks like fruit, nuts and protein bars. Also, remember to slip, slop, slap.
IMPORTANT NOTE !!!!!
The Figure 8 Pools can ONLY be accessed at LOW TIDE as they are underwater and not visible at any other time. If you are panning the trek please click HERE to check the local tidal information from the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. Also avoid visiting during rough seas as many visitors have been injured by large waves which crash over the rock shelf sweeping all before them across the rocks.
